Two sculptures consisting of detached handles rest atop a standardized plinth. Stripped from discarded refrigeration units, the modest scaled objects connote kitchens and their immediate domestic surroundings. Once providing access points to temperature controlled compartments, they now lie altered and stained, bearing traces of food particles and other erosive matter through prior handling. While the handles may provide an associative investigation into applied design, their lack of utility subtly contends with its critique.
